Kevin McCarthy touches heart of fan with Bell's Palsy

WASHINGTON - FOX 5 movie reviewer Kevin McCarthy meets lots of fans everyday - but when he met Angela Hackey - something special happened.

Angela had just been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy when she ran into Kevin last summer at the Empire Season Finale party.

Although she was a big fan of Kevin's work - she didn't want to take any pictures that day because the Bell's Palsy left her facial muscles weak and left her unable to smile. "I couldn't smile and I felt ugly," she wrote Kevin in an email.

But Kevin wouldn't hear of it. "You still took a picture with me and told me I was beautiful," she said. And that's something she wouldn't forget.

Months later, Angela's condition has improved and she's feeling great!

Her smile has even returned. And she'll never forget how special Kevin made her feel.

"Just know you touched my heart," she wrote Kevin. "Happy to smile on the outside again! Be blessed and stay wonderful!!!"
