Investigation after ATM theft, crash along B-W Parkway in Prince Georges County, authorities say

Authorities say an automated teller machine was stolen from a gas station in Prince Georges County early Thursday morning leading to a crash on a busy stretch of highway nearby.

The ATM was stolen from a Landover Hills area Exxon station in the 6500 block of Annapolis Road just before 4 a.m. Officers say a pickup truck was used to smash into the store and at least three men were involved in the robbery.

The truck feld the area and crashed along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway near the ramp to Route 201 near Route 50. Police originally told FOX 5 that a brief pursuit happened prior to the crash but have since said no pursuit took place. The three suspects fled the area. Police say they recovered the ATM and that no injuries were reported.

The investigation is still continuing at this time.
