Human remains found in Anne Arundel County

SHADY SIDE, Md. - Anne Arundel County police are investigating human remains found in Shady Side Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they received a call at around 1:30 p.m. about the remains being found along the water at Holly Avenue and Chesapeake Avenue.

The medical examiner has responded to the scene. It is unknown if the remains are male or female. The cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy.

Police say they are trying to determine if this is the result of criminal activity.
