Greenbelt police release sketch of suspect in Ivy Lane homicide

Greenbelt police have released a sketch of a suspect as they continue to investigate the murder of a Bowie woman outside of a business office on Ivy Lane.

Police have cast a wide net as they search for 44-year-old Bettie Jenifer's killer.

The Bowie woman was married to two men - one, her estranged husband, a jailed Maryland drug kingpin; the other, a Ghanaian soap opera star.

She was gunned down in broad daylight as she ran across the parking lot, with the suspect following behind her and firing multiple shots, police say.

One of the bullets struck Jenifer in the head.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the gunman was a middle-aged, black male, who was wearing a black, sleeveless top at the time of the shooting.

He reportedly entered a blue vehicle after the shooting.
