Good Day DC shares personal perspectives on recent police involved shooting
WASHINGTON - Emotions are high following the recent police involved shootings that left 37-year-old Alton Sterling and 32-year-old Philando Castile dead.
Sterling was shot and killed outside a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, convenience store where he was selling music and movies on discs. A day later, Castile was shot to death during a police traffic stop in suburban Minneapolis, Minn.
This topic has stirred many different feelings from FOX 5 viewers and our staff members. Our users on Facebook have expressed disbelief, concern, outrage and sympathy for these victims and their families. Others have put their emotions aside to wait and hear from police.
This morning on Good Day DC, Steve Chenevey, Allison Seymour, Wisdom Martin and Maureen Umeh had an honest and open conversation about the topic. They each had different viewpoints and some shared personal stories that correspond with the comments FOX 5 has received on social media.
