FOX Beat: Jessica Chastain talks about role in new film, 'The Martian'

In the new film, 'The Martian,' an astronaut presumed dead after a storm is left behind on Mars by his crew. Stranded, astronaut Mark Watney, played by Matt Damon, uses his wits to survive and send a signal to Earth that he is alive.

Jessica Chastain, plays Melissa Lewis, the commander who decides to leave Watney behind.

Chastain, and NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson who advised her on set, spoke with FOX 5's Kevin McCarthy about the making of the film.

Wind turbines were used in the filming of several scenes - and lot of debris was REALLY flying through the air!

"It's wonderful to be involved in a film that hopefully will inspire young girls to be astronauts," Chastain said.
