FOX 5 and Stand Up To Cancer raising money for groundbreaking cancer research

WASHINGTON - FOX 5 and Stand Up To Cancer are teaming up to help raise funds for groundbreaking cancer research.

Stand Up To Cancer was established in 2008 by film and media leaders who teamed up to increase cancer prevention as well as get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives.

In 10 years, the organization has brought together thousands of scientists and helped fund their research. Stand Up To Cancer-supported researchers have completed more than 180 clinical trials involving over 12,000 patients and contributed to the FDA approval of five new cancer treatments.

In all, more than $480 million has been pledged in support of Stand Up To Cancer.
