Police arrested a Cobb County father after a child welfare worker discovered his son restrained inside their home.

According to a warrant, someone tipped off the Cobb County Division of Family and Children Services to the existence of a YouTube video that showed Michael Jones "using a restraint round the waist of his son to prevent movement."

On July 31, a DFCS worker went to the home on Roosevelt Circle to check on the child and found him restrained in "what appeared to be seatbelt material." Documents state Jones removed the restraint and the worker left.

When she returned later that night, however, the DFCS employee and Marietta Police reported the child was "restrained in a car seat" and "the house had a foul smell that was coming from a bathtub of urine."

Officers arrested Jones and charged him with contributing to the deprivation of a minor. The child was taken into state custody.

"Because of the nature of the investigation, we're really waiting on DFCS to kind of give us some direction of what they're doing with what will be best for the child," said Marietta Police Public Information Officer Chuck McPhilamy.

DFCS did not respond to requests for further information on the case.

Jones remains in the Cobb County Jail under an ICE hold. Jail information shows he was born in Bermuda.
