Fairfax County police release video of officers taking naked overdosing man into custody

Fairfax County police said body-camera video showing officers taking an overdosing man - who later died - into custody confirms that they did not use deadly force during the incident.

"This is the training that values human life. This did not end in an awful use of deadly force. We cared for this young man, and we got him aid," Fairfax County Police Chief Ed Roessler Jr. said.

On Wednesday, officials released dramatic body-camera video that shows police working to apprehend a naked man, Christopher Paul, who appears to be suffering from a mental health episode or drug reaction.

Police say just after 4:30 p.m. on June 26, officers responded to the 4300 block of Mission Court in Alexandria for a call about a possible overdose and possible domestic assault.

Roessler said the two officers that first responded to the home were both trained in crisis intervention and mental health awareness.
