Fairfax County police look to identify suspicious couple who tried to lure young girl

Fairfax County police are asking for the public's help as they try to identify a suspicious man and woman who they say approached a young girl in the Pine Spring neighborhood of Falls Church on Tuesday.

Officials say the girl was walking home from her elementary school with her adult brother around 3:45 p.m. when they were approached by a man and a woman at the intersection of Pine Spring Road and Meadow View Road.

Fairfax County police say the pair offered the girl a treat and motioned her towards them, but the brother moved his sister away from them.

The siblings made it home safely and reported the incident to their mom, who reported it to Pine Spring Elementary School employees on Wednesday, who then called police.

Police say the woman is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, 5-foot-2, 140 pounds, with shoulder length straight blonde or gray hair. She was reportedly wearing black pants and a white jacket with a hood.

The man is described as being between 40 and 50 years old with short hair.

Police have only provided a composite sketch of the woman.

The couple was reportedly driving a newer model white passenger van, with a yellow license plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fairfax County police at (703) 246-7800.
