Entrapment risk prompts lockset recall
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A hardware company is recalling about 13,500 locksets that may fail to open, potentially trapping a person in a room.
Dormakaba USA announced that it is recalling the Stanley Commercial Hardware locksets on Wednesday.
The company has received eight reports of locks failing - none of those incidents resulted in any injuries.
They say if you've bought one of their locksets, you should replace it.
The units were sold at a number of outlets, including Newport Distribution, CBS Manhattan, and Columbus Door Company and other lock distributors nationwide, as well as online at www.Grainger.com from Dec. 2013 and June 2018 for between $450 and $650.
