Ellis County firefighters indicted for sodomizing trainee with sausage
Several former Ellis County volunteer firefighters and their supervisors have been indicted for their role in an alleged hazing incident.
The case was presented before a grand jury Tuesday. Keith Wisakowsky, Casey Staffford, Blake Tucker, Alec Miller, Preston Peyrot and Brittany Parten were each indicted for one count of aggravated sexual assault and one count of attempted aggravated sexual assault.
Gaven Satterfield and William Getzendaner were also indicted for tampering with a witness.
The alleged incident happened in January at the Emergency Service District Number 6 Volunteer Fire Department in Waxahachie. The firefighters were accused of using a chorizo sausage to sodomize a trainee.
An arrest warrant affidavit states they looked for a broomstick before deciding to use the sausage in the assault, during which the trainee was held down. Video of the incident shows the firefighters yelling and laughing.
Fire chiefs Satterfield and Getzendaner allegedly knew about what happened but did not report it. They instead joked about the video and encouraged the firefighters to "keep their mouths shut," the affidavit states.
All eight suspects were suspended shortly after their arrests.
