Downed trees, power outages and stranded vehicles after Halloween storm hits DC region
WASHINGTON - Heavy storms on Halloween night caused power outages, downed tree and stranded vehicles around the D.C. region Thursday night and Friday morning.
Officials say a vehicle was stranded in high water along Rifle Ford Road near Monarch Vista Drive and Smokey Glen Farm in the Darnestown area.


The driver of the vehicle was able to escape and was not harmed.
On Colorado Avenue in Northwest, D.C., a downed tree brought down power lines. Several school across the region closed due to lack of power.
