DMV scam targets drivers by email

The Department of Motor Vehicles is warning drivers about a phishing scam targeting D.C. motorists. The scam comes by way of email, the Department says, with a subject line that says 'Notice Of Overdue Parking Violations.'

The email then asks customers to pay an overdue fine and late fee.

The DMV urges drivers to ignore the email, saying if you have an overdue fine, the agency will contact you by U.S. mail, and not email.
