Investigators say 35-year-old Delonte Mitchell attacked a victim, along with the child and the dog, after their argument escalated into a fight at a residence in the 2700 block of Douglass Road, Southeast.
Mitchell allegedly took off in the victim’s vehicle after the incident.
Police say the girl’s injuries are not life threatening.
The dog succumbed to its injuries.
Mitchell was charged with second-degree cruelty to children, along with assault and bodily injury.
They say Mitchell was last seen driving a 2015 silver Hyundai Sonata with a Virginia tag number of VXJ7129.
