WASHINGTON - D.C. already has a mayor, but the city has a new job opening for a "Night Mayor."
The official title for this position is director of the Office of Nightlife and Culture. The main duty of the job would be to advise the D.C. Council and Mayor Muriel Bowser on common issues and trends relating to D.C.'s after-hours economy.

This position has been in the works since last year after it was proposed by Councilmember Brandon Todd (D-Ward 4).
The person hired for this role would report to Mayor Bowser and serve as a member of her cabinet.
D.C. is not the first city to adopt this position. Cities such as New York and London also have so-called Night Mayors.
The District is offering a salary between $97,434 to $118,000 for this position.
