DC firefighters rescue construction worker with crane

WASHINGTON - D.C. firefighters rescued an injured construction worker on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was trapped 50 feet below ground level when firefighters arrived and lifted him using a basket and crane. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident happened at the 1700 block of Champlain Street at the site of a new hotel in Adams Morgan.
