DC encourages residents to participate in security camera incentive program

D.C.'s mayor is urging residents to take part in the city's security camera incentive program as a way to aid police in solving crimes in the District.

In 2016 Mayor Bowser began the Security Camera Incentive Program which provides rebates for buying, installing and registering security camera systems outside of a homes and businesses.

The mayor's office says that over the past three years, the program has received over 7,100 applications and has provided over $2.25 million in rebates funding over 15,000 cameras across the District.
