DACA supporters protest outside White House

Supporters of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program rallied outside the White House on Tuesday to demand President Donald Trump's administration do more to protect immigrants during a national day of action.

Tuesday marked the five-year anniversary from when immigrant youth were first able to apply for DACA protection.

The protesters, including organizations such as United We Dream and CASA, said they called for action after 10 politicians set an arbitrary deadline of Sept. 5 for Trump to end the DACA program.

Several cities across the country were holding similar events to call for action.
