Clouds and showers Monday with heavier evening storms possible

It's going to be a wet and soggy start to the workweek with clouds and showers around the D.C. region for most of the morning and afternoon Monday and the chance for heavier storms later in the evening.

FOX 5's Mike Thomas says the threat for showers will remain throughout the day even though it won't rain every minute. Temperatures will be around 80 degrees, but with the lack of sunshine, we can expect a cooler feel to the day.

Evening temperatures drop into the 60s with the threat of heavier storms sometime after 9 p.m., Mike says. The rain should stop sometime overnight with some sunshine returning by Tuesday afternoon and temperatures reaching around 80 degrees.

Most of Wednesday appears dry with some evening showers and Thursday begins wet and sunshine returning by the afternoon. Cooler temperatures stick around until the end of the week with a warmer weekend ahead.
