Class-action lawsuit: EOS lip balm causes severe blisters, rashes
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the popular lip balm brand, EOS, because users are complaining that it's giving them severe rashes, bleeding, blistering, cracking and loss of pigmentation, according to multiple reports.
Rachael Cronin filed the lawsuit and claims her experience with the lip balm was a disaster. According to TMZ, Cronin says that within hours of applying the balm, her lips felt like sandpaper. Then, later on, her lips started cracking and bleeding, which left blisters and rashes for 10 days.
The lawsuit, TMZ reports, is asking for damages and demands corrective advertising.
EOS responded to TMZ and said the following: "We firmly believe this lawsuit is without merit. Our products ... exceed all safety and quality standards set out by our industry ... . The health and well-being of our customers is our top priority."
