Car smashes into beer and wine store; driver arrested

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Two people were arrested after police say they crashed their car through the front of a Gaithersburg beer and wine store and then fled the scene.

The incident happened along the 400 block of North Frederick Avenue just before 1 a.m.

Montgomery County Police say a 19-year-old female driver faces DUI charges after she allegedly drove into the building. A 27-year-old man who was in the car was also arrested after police say he drove the car from the scene following the accident.

Officers say the arrests where made shortly after the accident.

No one was injured.
