Cab driver shot, another man killed, in overnight violence in Prince George's County

A cab driver was shot and another man was killed after two separate violent incidents early Wednesday in Prince George's County.

Police say they were called to the 9000 block of Ballard Lane in the Clinton area at around 2:30 a.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. A witness at the scene told FOX 5's Melanie Alnwick that they heard gunshots and came upon the victim on the ground in the street. The witness told Alnwick that the victim said he was a cab driver and that he had been called to the area for a pick-up. Once he arrived, the witness said, several suspects forced him out of his vehicle where they shot and robbed him. The Silver Cab Company confirmed that the victim was a driver with the company.

Police have not released any information about the victim. They did say the man is in critical but stable condition at this time.

Earlier in the morning officers were called to the 6700 block of Geneva Lane in the Camp Springs area around 12:25 a.m. There they found a man suffering from knife wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Anyone with information in either if the incidents is asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS.
