Boil Water Notice for several communities in Haymarket area following water main break

A water main break in Prince William County has caused a Boil Water Notice to be put into place in several communities in the Haymarket area.

The Prince William County Service Authority notified resident on Tuesday of the advisory. Residents in communities located north of Virginia Gateway/Atlas Walk are being asked to boil tap water or to use bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution.

The county says the notice will remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours while water quality testing is done.

Piedmont
Dominion Valley
Virginia Oaks
Town of Haymarket
Heritage Farms
Villages at Piedmont
Somerset
Hopewell's Landing
Heathcoate Commons
Gates Mill
Parks at Piedmont

Officials at affected schools in Prince William County will have bottled water available. Students are advised to bring extra bottled water for personal use.
