HAYMARKET, Va. - A water main break in Prince William County has caused a Boil Water Notice to be put into place in several communities in the Haymarket area.
The Prince William County Service Authority notified resident on Tuesday of the advisory. Residents in communities located north of Virginia Gateway/Atlas Walk are being asked to boil tap water or to use bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution.
The county says the notice will remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours while water quality testing is done.
Affected communities include (among others):
Town of Haymarket
Villages at Piedmont
Parks at Piedmont
Officials at affected schools in Prince William County will have bottled water available. Students are advised to bring extra bottled water for personal use.

Bull Run MS
Mountain View ES
Buckland Mills ES
