Another special unicorn ride for 6-year-old Eden, whose cancer has returned
WOODBINE, Md. - A Maryland 6-year-old who has battled brain cancer for much of her life warmed the hearts of people all over the world when her wish--to ride a unicorn--came true on FOX 5 last year. Now, she has had another wish fulfilled at a time when she really needs the support.
In December, FOX 5 DC Cares partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make Eden's wish come true. On that special day, Eden went on a scavenger hunt that took her all over DC (even the White House!), and at the end, she found herself outside the Verizon Center. That's where she got her wish, happily hopping on a "unicorn" as her family, friends, and a huge crowd of people she didn't know gathered to show her how special she is.
Eight months later, Eden's brain cancer has returned. This is her third reoccurrence, and she is not in treatment.
On that special day in December, Eden told FOX 5's Sue Palka live on the air that she had another wish: to ride her unicorn into the "enchanted forest." On Friday afternoon, she did just that--thanks to Days End Horse Farm Rescue, which is the same Maryland horse farm that made it possible for her original wish to come true.
