Alexandria School Board votes against adding second high school, chooses to expand T.C. Williams

The Alexandria School Board voted against adding another high school to its system Thursday night, instead choosing to expand the current one.

Currently, TC Williams is the only high school in Alexandria – but it has multiple satellite campuses.

The board voted 6 to 3 to expand the high school, in what is called a connected high school network.

The district anticipates 5,000 high school students by 2025.

If the board chose to add a second high school, experts estimated it would either cost the district more money, or fewer courses would be offered.
