Alexandria family looking for answers after their daughter is gunned down

A family is heartbroken after a 20-year-old college student was gunned down on Friday morning in Alexandria.

Diamond Moore died after she was shot along Holmes Run Parkway, and police are looking for a suspect.

Moore's mother's fiance had just returned from the hospital with her mother when he talked to FOX 5.

People who knew that family want to know why.

A neighbor who talked to FOX 5 remembers her as a sweet girl.

Her mother's fiance says Diamond graduated from T.C. Williams High School.

She had been attending Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia, but was involved in a bad car crash about six months ago and had returned home to recover.

He says currently she was doing well.

Diamond's mother and her fiance were at work on Friday morning when she walked out of the house and was shot in the street.

All police have said is that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public in the Alexandria area.

Diamond's father spoke with FOX 5 on Friday night. He lives in Pittsburgh, but was on his way to Virginia to be with the family.
