Authorities say 26-year-old Jose Ortega Ayala of Greenbelt was taken into custody in Arlington on Wednesday and faces first degree murder charges in the killing of Jacson Pineda-Chicas. He is awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.

According to police, the victim and the suspects were at a gang meeting inside the gang leader's home in the 700 block of Varnum Street in Landover Hills on March 8. Officers believe he was stabbed as many as 100 times by his fellow MS-13 gang members before his body was taken to Virginia where it was dumped and set on fire.

Investigators say five others have previously been arrested and are also facing charges connected to the murder.
