Police say the head collision happened around 7:39 p.m. Sunday near Austin Ridge Drive and Shields Road.

Tamarr Williams, 38, of Woodbridge was driving a 1995 Lexus SC300 at a high rate of speed headed southbound on Austin Ridge Drive with Andrea Forte, 35, of Stafford in the passenger seat, police say.

Williams lost control of the car and went into the oncoming lane of travel. The car collided with a 2019 Hyundai Elantra driven by Tamara Williams, 27, of Fredericksburg.

Both drivers and the passenger died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours Sunday night and again on Monday for accident reconstruction.
