2nd man arrested in murder of Maryland woman found shot to death in burning car in DC

An additional arrest was made Wednesday in the death of a 23-year-old Maryland woman who was found in a parked car that been set on fire in December, according to authorities.

DC police said 22-year-old Marcel Vines of Northeast was taken has been charged with first-degree murder while armed in the death of Kerrice "Kay Kay" Lewis.

Officers were initially called to the 800 block of Adrian Street, SE for reports of a shooting on Dec. 28, but when they arrived they found a car on fire in a parking lot. Once they extinguished the fire, Lewis' body was discovered.

According to court documents, Lewis was shot 15 times and left for dead inside the locked trunk of the vehicle.

In February, police announced they arrested 23-year-old Ashton Briscoe of Northeast and charged him with first-degree murder while armed in connection with the murder. Officials said Briscoe was the lookout and getaway driver.
