23 snow plows reported missing from Glen Burnie yard

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland State Highway Administration has announced that 23 snow plows are missing from a Glen Burnie maintenance yard.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the disappearance of the plows was first noted June 25. Maryland State Police Spokesman Gregory Shipley says police were told the plows had been placed in a maintenance yard in the spring. Police haven't established if a theft occurred.
The snow plows are worth $3,000 each new.
Highway Administration Spokesman David Coyne says the Administration has taken "personnel actions" as a result of the incident and are upgrading security at the yard. Officials didn't disclose the missing snow plows until Thursday, when the Maryland Gazette asked about them.
Coyne says plows from other areas of the state have been transferred to Glen Burnie.
