2 men shot in Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. - Two men have been shot in Waldorf Wednesday evening, authorities said.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office said it received a call at around 6:15 p.m. for gunshots fired in the 2500 block of Gittings Court.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital. One of the victims suffered serious injuries, but was alert and conscious. The other victim was shot in the buttocks, but his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

The sheriff's office said this may have been sparked by some sort of altercation and the suspect may have fled in a car.

The shooting remains under investigation.
