(AP) -- Authorities report that two people are injured after a truck overturned onto cars on the Capital Beltway.

Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer tweeted that two people were hurt after the crash near the American Legion Bridge during the morning rush Wednesday, but their injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

Photos from the scene show the truck's cab tilted to the side and the trailer resting on its side over one car and across the back of another.

The crash closed southbound lanes for a time just before the bridge across the Potomac River just as travelers hit the road ahead of Thanksgiving. All lanes reopned to traffic around 11:30 a.m.
