2 found dead inside Capitol Hill home ruled murder-suicide
WASHINGTON - D.C. police say the deaths of two people found inside a Capitol Hill rowhouse Monday afternoon has been ruled a murder-suicide.
Police say 37-year-old John Robinson fatally shot 36-year-old Desiree Cooper and then turned the gun on himself.
Robinson was a well-known and popular trainer at Results Gym on Capitol Hill.
Family members who arrived at the house on Tennessee Avenue on Tuesday morning said Robinson had separated from his wife and had found a new girlfriend, but they had no idea what happened inside the house.
Robinson and Cooper were found Monday afternoon after police say they received a welfare check call.
In addition to his training work, family members said Robinson also did some contracting on the side. The house where he was found dead is under renovation. Tax records show the house is owned by Cooper.
