2 at large after armed robbery, shooting in NE DC

Two armed suspects remain at large after firing shots during a restaurant robbery in Northeast DC, according to authorities.

DC police said the robbery and shooting happened in the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE, between Quarles Street and Douglas Street, NE, at about 3 p.m.

Witnesses told FOX 5 the suspects fired shots while robbing employees at "Mary's Place." The suspects took off in a light blue BMW that they later abandoned along Anacostia Avenue, according to witnesses.

FOX 5 was told that one person was shot, but was conscious, breathing, and assumed to have non-life threatening injuries.

Police and K-9 units were scouring the area for the suspects and evidence. Witnesses told FOX 5 officers picked up what appeared to be a bag of money in a nearby field.
