1st grader suspended after making gun gesture with hand, pointing at classmate
A first grader was suspended from school earlier this week after he allegedly made a gun shape with his hand and pointed at a classmate.
According to an online report by KRDO, a 6-year-old in Colorado Springs made the gesture during class. The report also says the boy said, "You're dead," to the fellow student.
"Going as far as a one-day suspension is a little extreme for a 6-year-old in a first-grade class," said the boy's father, Austin Thurston.
A school administrator told KRDO that they feel appropriate action was taken.
"Of course I think he was playing," the boy's dad told KRDO. "What six-year-old doesn't play cops and robbers, or cowboys and Indians?"
