A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult after deputies say he stabbed a coworker several times during an argument in a Frederick parking lot.

What we know:

Frederick County sheriff’s deputies responded at about 3:11 p.m. Wednesday to a reported stabbing in the 7200 block of Bank Court.

Deputies found an adult man with multiple stab wounds to his arm, chest and abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition, the sheriff’s office said.

Argument between coworkers escalated

The preliminary investigation found the victim and suspect worked together, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation in the parking lot, where the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times before running away.

Teen charged as an adult

Detectives identified the suspect as Darwin Orlando Martinez-Serrano, 17, of Hyattsville.

He was arrested later Wednesday night in Hyattsville and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Martinez-Serrano is charged as an adult with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
