1 woman killed, 1 injured in DC hit and run, officials say

WASHINGTON - A woman died and another was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Thursday evening, according to officials.

DC police said the two women were hit in the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE at about 6 p.m.

Both women were rushed to the hospital where one succumbed to her injuries, authorities stated. The other victim appears to have non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.

Investigators said the vehicle that struck the women fled the scene and detectives have not been able to get a description of the vehicle at this time.
