1 dead after crash on Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. - One person has died after a crash along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway that closed a portion of the roadway for hours.

The crash was reported around 11 p.m. Monday along northbound Interstate 295 near Route 198. All traffic was detoured at Route 198 for several hours finally reopening to traffic around 6 a.m.

In addition to the person who died at the scene and another was transported. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
