Nationals place Bryce Harper on 10-day disabled list

Bryce Harper was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a hyperextended left knee.

Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo said the outfielder suffered the injury on Saturday while crossing first base.

Outfielder Michael A. Taylor was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list after missing 29 games with a right oblique strain.

Harper, the 2015 National League MVP, is currently tied for the Major League lead with 14 two-strike home runs this season and leads the MLB with 12 first-inning longballs.
