Dwayne Haskins throws 3 picks in regular-season debut; Redskins drop to 0-4

Dwayne Haskins in his regular season debut against the New York Giants on Sunday.

Rookie Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins had a forgettable regular-season debut for the Burgundy and Gold on Sunday, throwing three interceptions in a losing effort against the New York Giants.

The loss drops the winless Redskins to 0-4 on the season. The New England Patriots come to Landover next week.

Haskins came in for de facto starting quarterback Case Keenum, who threw an interception and overthrew several receivers himself before getting pulled in the first half.

But the Giants defense proved too overwhelming for Haskins, and the Redskins likely figure to be playing more for a draft pick than a playoff spot this season.

The final: Redskins 3, Giants 24.
