FOX partners with U.S.VETS for DC comedy event to fight homelessness

Veterans took center stage Friday night at the DC Improv, where FOX Entertainment hosted a special comedy event to benefit U.S.VETS, a nonprofit dedicated to ending veteran homelessness.

The "Stand Up for Vets" show was part of a nationwide initiative promoting FOX's new workplace comedy Going Dutch, starring Denis Leary. The series follows an Army colonel assigned to a base in the Netherlands, offering a humorous take on military life abroad.

A portion of the proceeds from Friday's event will support U.S.VETS' mission to provide housing, counseling, career programs, and other resources to help veterans transition to civilian life. Performers incorporated playful, respectful humor about military tropes and Dutch culture, tying back to the theme of Going Dutch.

FOX, a longtime partner of U.S.VETS, has taken a multifaceted approach to support veterans, combining financial aid with opportunities to promote social responsibility initiatives through its programming.

"FOX is proud to host these events across the country to show our appreciation and honor our veterans," the company said in a statement.

U.S.VETS, the largest nonprofit combating veteran homelessness in the United States, operates 40 residential and service sites across 18 locations nationwide. The organization’s holistic approach aims to ensure veterans not only survive but thrive as they transition to civilian life.

The "Stand Up for Vets" series will continue with events in New York, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
