FOX 5 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission Moments brought to you by WAWA
“When we walk, cancer runs” is the motivating theme for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walks. Supporters and survivors are walking again this year to raise money and awareness to fight blood cancers. LLS is the largest non-profit funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures.
To help people understand the importance of the LLS mission FOX 5, WaWa, and the WaWa Foundation are sharing this Mission Moments podcast. With interviews from cancer survivors, their families, people who are in the fight and information on research, we are hoping you will learn more about blood cancers and how those are working towards cures for everyone.
Amanda Tiede is the vice-chair for the National Capital Area Chapter and has found the “secret sauce” to add to existing Leukemia & Lymphoma campaigns. Year 2 of her chairing the Student of the Year campaign, she raised $2 million. Tiede shares what’s made fundraising so successful and the impact the funds has made on the lives of cancer patients.
