Youth pastor accused of sexually assaulting 16-year-old girl in court
ROCKVILLE, Md. - A former Montgomery County youth pastor accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl is due back in a Rockville courtroom.
Brian Werth was arrested back in September when he was the youth ministries director at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Rockville. He has been charged with one count of fourth-degree sexual offense, one count of sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree assault for his alleged abuse of the teen who attended his church.
The 32-year-old is also accused of texting sexually explicit images to the girl from as far back as the summer of 2014.
Authorities will decide Friday if charges will be filed in circuit court.
