WOW! Hurricane Nicole blows in 'sea monster' of a lobster
"Hurricane Nicole blew in some sea monsters..." reads the Facebook post showing a huge lobster caught off the coast of Bermuda this week.
Captain Matthew Jones' crew from the Sanctuary Marine Bermuda showed off a 14 pound lobster they believe washed closer to shore thanks to the storm.
The crew later posted Go-Pro video of the catch. They said they accidentally hooked the giant creature while night fishing.
It's unclear how old the lobster is, but marine experts say they can live to be about 70 years old.
This isn't a record-setter though. The Guinness World Records lists the largest lobster caught was over 44 pounds. That happened off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.
And before you grab your butter, chefs say generally the bigger the lobster, the less appetizing.
Jones says his team released the colossal crustacean back into the sea.
