Woodrow Wilson Bridge reopens after suspicious package investigation

The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge has reopened Thursday night after it was shut down to traffic for about three hours for the investigation of a suspicious package.

All lanes were closed in both directions after a brown cardboard box with red wires and duct tape was found on the southbound local lanes of the bridge at around 6:45 p.m. The bridge reopened in all directions just after 10 p.m.

Maryland State Police conducted the investigation and received assistance from the Prince George's County's Bomb Squad.
