Woman with Down Syndrome selected as beauty brand's model

Katie Meade is the first person with Down Syndrome to be a beauty brand's model.

The brand Fearless by Beauty & Pin Ups selected Katie as a model for its Fearless Hair Rescue Treatment product. The brand creates intensive hair treatments for professionals.

Katie overcame multiple heart surgeries when she was younger and she went on to become a gold medal winner in the Special Olympics. She is also the Best Buddies Global Ambassador.

According to the company, "Katie strives to end the social, physical, and economic isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities."

Katie says, "looking good is feeling good."

A portion of proceeds from the product supports Best Buddies International.
