Winds bring down power lines in Alexandria area leaving some without power Thanksgiving morning

Some homeowners are without power Thanksgiving morning in Alexandria after a tree fell on top of power lines.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Some homeowners are without power Thanksgiving morning in Alexandria after a tree fell on top of power lines.

The incident shut down some roads in the area of Russell Road, between Monticello Boulevard and MacArthur Road.

Police say to avoid the area until crews have cleared. A handful of customers are without power right now.
