Water main break causes service problems, traffic delays in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. - A water main break in Silver Spring has left hundreds without water and is causing traffic delays for morning commuters.

The emergency was reported Saturday afternoon to a 10-inch line near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Georgia Avenue. Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said 300 customers were impacted.

Traffic in the area is expected to face delays throughout the morning. Harmony Hills Elementary School was closed Monday due to the water main break. A water station has been set up at the school for those impacted.
