Visually impaired woman clearly sees family for the first time in 12 years

Heartwarming video captured the moment a visually impaired woman clearly saw her family for the first time in over a decade.

The woman's husband is a patient of Dr. Shahab Motamedi, an optometrist in Waldorf, and on a day he was being seen he mentioned his wife needed her eyes examined as well. According to Dr. Motamedi, he had a last minute cancellation and was able to admit her.

Dr. Motamedi told FOX 5, per the patient, she has not been able to clearly see for 12 years. Upon examination, he was able to fit her with special lenses designed for her condition.

The video shows the emotional moment she came out of the examination room and laid eyes on her family. Dr. Motamedi said that it was the first time she clearly saw her son and that the experience was "probably the most amazing moment in my career so far."
